York in Late Winter

Hello all,

The other week during a break in the snow, saw another visit to York when there was an international food market taking place. On such a bitterly cold day, the sights and smells were just amazing...

Polish sausages grilling over a huge fire, noodles in giant woks and chocolates gorgeous enough to tempt those with the hardiest of resolve...

Olives are a huge weakness of mine...a bowl of cubed feta cheese and a glass of chilled  Pinot = bliss....

There was also some gorgeous stalls selling Baltic amber, handmade soaps and these lovely woollen throws and blankets...the colours were so muted they caught my eye straight away...

Likewise these vibrant Primula screamed 'spring'...it's so nice to see some colour creeping in gradually...

Time for a little more moseying before heading back to the car, and it always has to be two places in particular when in York...

Daisy Taylor is a favourite shop of mine. I just love it and always manage to find a little something in there. Its great for Christmas stocking fillers, such different and pretty items...

The cherry cupcake below I am regretting not bringing home with me this visit...next time....!

The other place I go to is Betty's. I love their window displays, they have such a knack of capturing the season in them...St Valentines Day was no exception... (can you spot the Fat Rascals peeking??)

Until the next York trip!

  1. What a lovely day out you had, I started drooling at the mention of olives and feta. Loving those woollen throws, sometimes I think I'd love a knitting machine!

  5. Dear Blueberry
Your trip to York looks wonderful. I love those woollen cushions in shades of grey. I am now feeling hungry so will have to eat a cake - that's all your fault with those photos of Bettys!
    Best wishes

  6. I love olives too, about to put some in my salad for lunch. Those throws and cushions are really lovely, I could do some good hibernating wrapped up in those.
